Swim safe

On Thursday Susanna and I have been doing swim safe at Water world pools. It is really fun. What we had to do was swim on our backs and when we got to the wall and  we had to Monkey, Monkey across the wall and this is Susanna and I doing the Monkey ,Monkey. We were learning heaps  of lessons at swim safe. The best thing about swim safe for me was practising my free style and also rocket kicking. The minus for me was people being silly at the pools because I was really disappointed . The interesting thing about swim safe was learning about saving your life and getting help when you were in the water just you and your mate.

On that dayof the performance  I was feeling really shy, but also excited to be perfoming to an audience. Here is a picture of me in full costume.

bean experiment

Yesterday on thurday we had to do and seed experiment. And we had to put paper towel a bean and also soil affter that we had to put water in it and we have to wait until it grows into something.I think it will grow
into a sun flower.

High Jump

Yesterday on Thursday we had to do High Jump with Mrs Bundycook. We had to jump over a metal bar and if we made the jump the metal bar will go higher and higher until you can't jump over it anymore. But we did"nt go that high because we were only practising for high jump so it wasnt that dificult. It was really easy
what I want to acheive on is doing well in high jump and making my legs straight when I jump over it.And also I want to do well in long jump and also sprints to 200 meters.

All Blacks Competition

Room8 have entered a photo competition. We are supporting the All Blacks against Argentina. We pretended to be at a Stadium supporting the All Blacks. We wanted to win the competition so that we could have an All Black come to visit our class. Macs mum Mrs Winter came into our class on the photo day and brought in some props we could wear for the photo. She brought in beanies, jaclets and also two cold hot dogs cold pot of chips. These are the things you see in a crowd at the sports stadium.

The Peasant prince.

In room we have been reading a story called the Peasant Prince and one of the characters is Li Cunxin. He was a very poor boy and he was one of the six of the seven sons. He was only 11 when he left his village and his family and desperately never got to see them again. At the age of18 he became the best dancer in China and then he travelled to America and he came the best dancer in America.

So, in room 8 we had to draw kites that repesented China, like dragons, blossom trees and also butterflies. We drew out the kite then practised sketching out our drawings. Then we coloured them in. They were ready to fly. My kite has a Chinese blossom tree on it.

Term 2 reflection.

What I liked about term 2 was that I learnt new strategies in maths. I enjoyed making the costumes for the trashion show. I am really pleased that I am getting new friends at Vardon school and I'm really use to this school because I have been  at Vardon school  for 4 months now. And I might stay here next year. My challenge was trying my best to work hard  and I'm  trying to make my thinking clear in  my writing. I still need to practise on it. I achieved my goal in  maths.Sometimes I can try and achieve it by working by myself independantly. I'm hoping to be a  year four leader next term.

Last Thursday at 6:30 the models were getting ready in their costumes for the show. There was a milk bottle lolly a liquorice allsort lolly, a snake lolly, a big round jaffa, a yummy fruit burst and a snappy crocodile. I really liked watching the trashion show. I went to the day one as I couldn't come that night. It was fun because the costumes looked awesome..

WASTE TO WOW! garments

Last week we made garments with room 4.On our models we put newspaper around theire waist to make a dress.
We then put scraps of coloured paper on the dress and we made bows around the dress to make it pretty and eyecatching. We didn't get enough time to put heaps of bows around the dresses. Susanna and I decided to put strips of paper on the bottom of the dress. We wanted to curl them but it was too late Susanna  was already sticking them on the bottom of the dress. So I copied to make the other garment the same as the other garment so they could be twins. Our lolly garment must be eye catching, durable and safe.

  • Describing words
  • They can be funny, sad, scary and silly.

My museum trip!

Last week Room8 and Room7 went to on a museum trip.  First we had  morning tea. Then we went into the
museum.  It looked so cool. We walked into this room and it looked like a room when you watch the movies. I got to explore stuff like costumes and it looked very interesting. Room 8 and room7 had to
split. Room8 was in the same room and room 7 got to see the costumes while we got to learn how the
costumes were made and who they were made from. We got to see what they looked like they
were so awesome. My favourite one that I liked was the picture that I got . I liked it because it was
the one that won out of all of them and  it was the best one I saw in the museum. We got to learn how they were made. I saw a cool one that looked like a clock.  I liked it too.
When we were on our museum trip it started to rain.  I was happy at the museum trip because
the favourite part was making hats because room7 and room8 had to all make hats but
we had to be in groups. When we were finished making our hats we got a
suprise. We got to look at the vardon school stuff from last year. I liked it
then we had to go home and we had to go through the rain to get to the car
we had to fast walk. When we got into the car we drove off back to
school to go home then I said bye to Mrs hood and went home .

Marmite is back

The Marmite factory got damaged in Christchurch by an earthquake.
marmite was first made in England.
marmitehas low fat sugar.
marmite has high in vitamins.
marmite has been around over 100 years.
marmite has yeast in it.
marmite is a vegetarian.
my opinion
I do not like marmite I reckon it is disgusting and has no flavour in it
it should have more taste in marmite.
